NFL Week 8 Predictions

(AP Photo/Wade Payne)
Foster had a great performance last week against the Titans. Can he and the
Texans  have a similar result this week when they face off against the Jaguars?

Last Week's Record: 10-3
Overall: 71-32

Colts vs. Titans: 27-23 Titans

After last week's embarrassing performance, the Colts looked like an amateur football team. Even if they play a little better in this game, the Titans should be able to handle this one. Look for Chris Johnson to break out and have a big game against the Colts.

Saints vs. Rams: 38-10

We now know that even when the Saints play bad teams, they never stop putting points on the scoreboard. With Sam Bradford out again for the Rams, this one should get out of hand pretty early.

Dolphins vs. Giants: 31-17 Giants

The Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East, and will maintain that position when they beat the winless Dolphins. The Dolphins lost their starting quarterback and running back, which means they will be worse than they usually are. Look for the Giants to win big at home.

Vikings vs. Panthers: 30-28 Panthers

The Panthers will win two games in a row for the first time in over a year. Cam Newton has really turned their offense around and has revived veteran wide receiver Steve Smith. Adrian Peterson and the Vikings will give them a good run, but in the end the Panthers will come out on top.

Cardinals vs. Ravens: 24-14 Ravens

The Ravens lost a ton of credibility last week when they lost to the Jaguars. Although they are still one of the top teams in the AFC, the Ravens need to win back some respect with a win against the Cardinals.

Jaguars vs. Texans: 35-13 Texans

Last week Arian Foster had a breakout game vs. the Titans. With Andre Johnson out again this week, look for a similar result in this game. Although the Jaguars are coming off an impressive win on Monday night vs. the Ravens, their offense still hasn't proved themselves yet.

Redskins vs. Bills: 30-21 Bills

The Bills have surprised many so far this season, and will keep up their good play with a win against the Redskins. The Redskins started off the season looking great, but three losses and a quarterback swap later, they find themselves third in the NFC East.

Lions vs. Broncos: 31-20 Lions

Tim Tebow might have saved the Broncos last week, but then again it was against the Dolphins. If the Broncos want to have any chance to win this game, they need Tebow to play well in all four quarters, not just the last. Also, look for the Lions to bounce back after two straight losses at home.

Patriots vs. Steelers: 28-27 Patriots

Despite Pittsburgh's home field advantage, the Patriots will win this game. Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense has been impressive the past few games, but Tom Brady and New England have one of the best offenses in the league.

Browns vs. Niners: 27-20 Niners

The 49'ers will continue their four game win streak with a win over the Browns. Peyton Hillis is unlikely to play again for the Browns, and even if he does end up playing, it still won't help the Browns. The Niners have one of the best defenses in the league, and Alex Smith and the offense has surprised everyone this season.

Bengals vs. Seahawks: 24-13 Bengals

The Bengals young offense has been surprisingly successful this season, while the Seahawks weak defense has been unsurprisingly weak. Andy Dalton is proving why Carson Palmer needed to leave Cincinnati  while AJ Green is proving why Ochocinco's time was done.

Cowboys vs. Eagles: 35-30 Eagles

Michael Vick knows when his team needs a big win. Last year on Monday Night, Vick exploded against the Redskins, having the game of his season. With another loss possibly ruining the Eagles' playoff hopes, look for Vick and the Eagles to bounce back and win this game.

Chargers vs. Chiefs: 30-24 Chargers

The Chiefs shocked the Raiders last week with a shutout win, but won't get the same result this week. The Chargers' offense is more explosive than the Raiders' offense, and they should be able to put more points on the scoreboard. Philip Rivers gained back one of his favorite targets in Antonio Gates, and will likely hit him up again on Monday Night

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints crushed the Colts, scoring eight combined touchdowns

Seahawks vs. Browns: 6-3 Browns
Seahawks Player of the Week: David Hawthorne- 11 tackles, sack, interception
Browns Player of the Week: Montario Hardesty- 95 rush yards, 27 receiving yards

The Browns managed to defeat the Seahawks even without running back Peyton Hillis. Although the Browns failed to reach the endzone, kicker Phil Dawson kicked two field goals to win them the game. The Seahawks played arguably their worst game of the season, racking up less than 150 yards of total offense.

Falcons vs. Lions: 23-16 Falcons
Falcons Player of the Week: Michael Turner- 122 rush yards
Lions Player of the Week: Calvin Johnson- 5 receptions, 115 yards, touchdown

After losing to the Falcons, the Lions have now lost two straight games at home. Are the Lions back to their usual ways? The Falcons have seemed to bounce back from some early losses in the season and are now 4-3.

Texans vs. Titans. 41-7 Texans
Texans Player of the Week: Arian Foster -115 rush yards, 119 receiving yards, 3 total touchdowns
Titans Player of the Week: Jared Cook- 2 receptions, 22 receiving yards, touchdown

Despite wide receiver Andre Johson out with a hamstring injury, the Texans demolished the Titans in Tennessee. Arian Foster broke out for this best game of the season, have over 225 all purpose yards and three touchdowns. With the win, the Texans are now the sole leaders of the AFC South.

Broncos vs. Dolphins: 18-15 (OT)
Broncos Player of the Week: Tim Tebow- 161 pass yards, 59 rush yards, 2 touchdowns, 91.7 passer rating
Dolphins Player of the Week: Cameron Wake- 4 tackles, 2 sacks, pass deflection

After the first three quarters, it looked the Miami might get its first win of the season. With just a few minutes left in the fourth quarter though, Tim Tebow got into a groove and led the Broncos to two touchdowns to tie up the game in two minutes. In overtime, after each team got one possession, the Broncos drove down the field and kicked a 51 yard game winning field goal.

Chargers vs. Jets: 27-21 Jets
Chargers Player of the Week: Antonio Gates- 5 receptions, 54 receiving yards, touchdown
Jets Player of the Week: Plaxico Burress- 4 receptions, 25 yards, 3 touchdowns

The Jets are back over .500 after defeating the Chargers at home. Shonne Green had a great for the Jets, rushing for over 120 yards. Plaxico Burress had his best game in three years, catching three passes in the endzone to win the Jets the game.

Bears vs. Bucs: 24-18 Bears
Bears Player of the Week: Matt Forte- 145 rush yards, touchdown
Bucs Player of the Week: Dezmon Briscoe- 6 receptions, 73 receiving yards, touchdown

The Bears were able to beat the Bucs in front of a British crowd at Wembley Stadium. The game was a pretty sloppy one, with the quarterbacks combining for six interceptions. The Bears went up big early in the game, but the Bucs fought back in the second half. On the Bucs' final drive Josh Freeman threw his fourth interception of the game to give the Bears the win.

Redskins vs. Panthers: 33-20 Panthers
Redskins Player of the Week: Fred Davis- 6 receptions, 80 receiving yards, touchdown
Panthers Player of the Week: Cam Newton- 256 pass yards, 59 rush yards 2 total touchdowns. 127.5 passer rating

The Panthers racked up their second win of the season, after beating the Redskins pretty well at home. After starting off the season hot, the Redskins have cooled down and have lost three of their last four games.

Chiefs vs. Raiders: 28-0 Chiefs
Chiefs Player of the Week Raiders quarterbacks- 6 completions, 113 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Raiders Player of the Week: Michael Bush- 99 receiving yards

The Raiders played atrociously against the Chiefs, throwing six total interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Also, Darren McFadden went down with an injury early in the game. With Carson Palmer struggling at quarterback, and Darren McFadden injured, the Raiders are not in very good shape.

Steelers vs. Cardinals: 32-20 Steelers
Steelers Player of the Week: Ben Roethlisberger- 369 pass yards, 3 touchdowns, 121.8 passer rating
Cardinals Player of the Week: Larry Fitzgerald- 4 receptions, 78 receiving yards

The Steelers defeated the Cardinals, improving their record to 5-2. Big Ben and the offense had another impressive game, and their defense held their own, only allowing 20 points. The Steelers have a big matchup this week vs. the Patriots.

Rams vs. Cowboys: 34-7 Cowboys
Rams Player of the Week: Steven Jackson- 70 rush yards, touchdown
Cowboys Player of the Week: DeMarco Murray-253 rush yards, touchdown

Backup DeMarco Murray, who was filling in for an injured Felix Jones, rushed for a Cowboys record of 253 yards. The Cowboys ran all over the Rams, who were missing their starting quarterback Sam Bradford.

Packers vs. Vikings: 33-27 Packers
Packers Player of the Week: Greg Jennings- 7 receptions,149 receiving yards, touchdown
Vikings Player of the Week: Adrian Peterson- 175 rush yards, touchdown

Christian Ponder did a good job in his first NFL start, keeping the Vikings in the game. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers remain undefeated and now move onto their bye week, before they face the Chargers.

Colts vs. Saints: 62-7 Saints
Colts Player of the Week: Delone Carter- 89 rush yard, touchdown
Saints Player of the Week: Drew Brees- 325 pass yards, 5 touchdowns, 144.9 passer rating

The Saints demolished the Colts, and scored the most points in the NFL in 26 years. The Saints combined for eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston each caught two touchdowns, while Jed Collins and Darren Sproles each ran one in.

Ravens vs. Jaguars: 12-7 Jaguars
Ravens Player of the Week: Anquan- 4 receptions, 40 receiving yards, touchdown
Jaguars Player of the Week: Maurice Jones-Drew- 105 rush yards

The Jaguars stunned the Ravens on Monday Night, holding them to only 148 yards of total offense and a  touchdown. Despite not scoring a touchdown, The Jaguars were able to score 12 points on four field goals by Josh Scobee.

College Football Week 8 Review

Kirk Cousins and the Michigan State Spartans knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers
thanks to a hail mary touchdown with no time left on the clock.

This past week in college football, seven teams in the Top 25 lost, five of which were upsets. (3) Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech, (6) Wisconsin lost to (16) Michigan State, (15) West Virginia lost to Syracuse, (20) Auburn lost to (1) LSU, (22) Georgia Tech lost to Miami, (23) Illinois lost to Purdue, and (25) Washington lost to (8) Stanford.

BCS Top 10:
1. LSU Tigers
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
3. Oklahoma State Cowboys
4. Boise State Broncos
5. Clemson Tigers
6. Stanford Cardinal
7. Oregon Ducks
8. Kansas State Wildcats
9. Oklahoma Sooners
10. Arkansas Razorbacks

Top Three Performances by Team or Player:
1. Stanford Cardinal RB's- The running game for Stanford rushed for 446 yards and five touchdowns in a 65-21 pounding against Washington. With two running backs rushing for over 100 yards and a third with 93, the Stanford running backs made it easy for Heisman Trophy candidate Andrew Luck, who only needed to throw for 169 yards and two touchdowns.
2. Texas Tech QB Seth Doege- Douge threw for 441 yards and four touchdowns, in effort to defeat Oklahoma. Douge helped the Red Raiders jump out to a 41-24 lead, which helped the Raiders later on when Oklahoma scored two late fourth quarter touchdowns.
3. Clemson QB Tajh Boyd- Boyd threw for 359 yards and five touchdowns, helping his Tigers remain undefeated. After beating North Carolina 59-38, Boyd and the Tigers climbed to 5th in the BCS Rankings.

Top Three Disappointments by Player or Team:
1. Auburn Tigers- The reigning BCS champions lost again Saturday and are now 5-3. How can a team that was the best team in the country last season, not even be in the top five in their respective division? We know that Auburn lost Cam Newton, but they still have running back Michael Dyer and many other players.
2. Wisconsin Badgers- The Badgers lost their first game of the season to Michigan State. Wisconsin hasn't won in East Lansing since 2002. Quarterback Russell Wilson's Heisman chances don't look very bright after a careless performance vs. the Spartans.
3. Illinois Fighting Illini- After starting the season 6-0, Illinois has lost its last two games and has dropped out of the Top 25. With their next three games being against Penn State, Michigan, and Wisconsin, the Illini could be 6-5 entering their last game of the season.

Game of the Week: Wisconsin vs. Michigan State

The College Gameday crew flew out to East Lansing for the Game of the Week. Wisconsin was trying to win it's first game at Michigan State since 2002. The Badgers jumped out to a 14-0 lead, and were in position to add to their lead, when Russell Wilson threw an interception right outside of the red zone. Michigan State wouldn't convert on their next possession, but were able to pin Wisconsin inside their own five yard line, which eventually lead to a safety. The Badgers' next two possessions were a blocked field goal and a blocked punted returned for a touchdown. The second quarter was dominated by Michigan State, who scored 23 unanswered points to take a 23-14 halftime lead. Wisconsin would come all the way back to score two late touchdowns and tie the game up at 31 with just a minute to play. After forcing Michigan State into a third a long, Wisconsin called timeout when the game could have went into overtime. The Spartans converted the first down and with five seconds left had a chance for a final play on the fifty yard line. Cousins bombed up a prayer that was miraculously deflected into the hands of a Spartans wide receiver who then stepped into the endzone to end the game. 37-31 Sparty!

Next Week's Five Intriguing Matchups:
1. (8) Kansas State vs. (9) Oklahoma- Can the Sooners respond after a loss to Texas Tech and hand Kansas State their first loss of the season?
2. (11) Michigan State vs. (13) Nebraska- Which Big Ten team will pull through in the first of many battles in Lincoln?
3. (15) Wisconsin vs. Ohio State- Can the Badgers bounce back from an ugly loss to Michigan State and beat the Buckeyes for a second straight year?
4. (22) Georgia vs. Florida- After starting off the season 0-2, Georgia has won five straight games. Is it too late for the Bulldogs to make a late-season push?
5. (19) Penn State vs. Illinois- Can the Fighting Illinois get back on track or will these next three games ruin their season?

NFL Week 7 Predictions

(Photo by Thomas B. Shea/Getty Images)
McFadden and the Raiders face off against the Chiefs. It will be interesting
to see how Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer play, with Jason Campbell out for the season .

Last Week's Record: 11-2
Overall: 61-29

Seahawks vs. Browns: 23-14 Browns

Despite Peyton Hillis' injury, the Browns will fight through this one, and defeat the Seahawks. The Seahawks are without their starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, and are starting backup Charlie Whitehurst. The more efficient offense will win this one today, since both teams struggle to put points on the scoreboard.

Falcons vs. Lions: 31-23 Lions

The Lions are coming off their first loss of the season against the 49'ers and are all pumped up for this game at home. The key factor for this game is not the Lions' offense, but how their defense plays against the Falcons offense. The Falcons have one of the best offenses in the league with Matt Ryan, Roddy White, and Michael Turner, so it will be interesting to see how Ndamukong Suh and the Lions plan to shut down the Falcons.

Texans vs. Titans: 30-20 Texans

Despite Andre Johnson still out with a hamstring injury, the Texans will bounce back from two straight losses and beat the Titans. The Texans still have a strong offense should be able to out-power the Titans.

Broncos vs. Dolphins: 24-21 Broncos

No one has sucked for Luck more than the Dolphins this season. Tim Tebow will take over at quarterback for the Broncos, and hopefully, will provide some new hope for Denver. The timing is perfect for Tebow to step in and shine for the Broncos, with a game against arguably the worst team in the NFL.

Chargers vs. Jets: 27-23 Jets

The Chargers are the favorites to win on Sunday, but the Jets will surprisingly upset them at home. This game will be an emotional one for the Jets, with LT playing against his former team, and Rex Ryan trying to back up his smack talk. The Jets have lost three of their last four games, but will turn it around with a win against San Diego.

Bears vs. Bucs: 28-20 Bears

Just a week after getting blown out by the 49'ers, the Bucs upset the New Orleans Saints. Their luck won't carry onto this week, as the Bears come into  town. As long as Jay Cutler plays smart football, and the Bears get the ball in Matt Forte's hands, the Bears should win this game.

Panthers vs Redskins: 31-24 Panthers

Cam Newton and the Panthers will win their second game of the season when they go into Washington and defeat the Redskins. The Redskins are starting backup John Beck after Rex Grossman disappointed the past few weeks. Cam Newton will find no trouble against the Redskins' defense both on the ground and in the air.

Chiefs vs. Raiders: 24-13 Raiders

With Jason Campbell out for the season, the Raiders are hoping that Kyle Boller, or the newly acquired Carson Palmer can lead them to the postseason. The Raiders face an easy opponent today in the Kansas City Chiefs, and might be able to work Carson Palmer into the game to get some experience with the playbook. Darren McFadden will rush for another 100 plus yards and a touchdown in a Raiders victory.

Steelers vs. Cardinals: 30-13 Steelers

The Steelers have been pretty quiet this season, but are still one of the best teams in the league. The hard hitting defense should have no problem against a weak Cardinals offense. On the offensive side of the ball, Big Ben will continue to put up big numbers, and Rashard Mendenhall will look to follow up an impressive game from last week.

Rams vs. Cowboys: 28-14 Cowboys

The Rams will remain winless when they face off the Cowboys in Dallas. The Cowboys' offense will be too much for the Rams' defense to handle. With Sam Bradford out for the Rams, the offense will have an  even harder time scoring points this week.

Packers vs. Vikings: 35-17 Packers

Christian Ponder will get his first start in the NFL Sunday for the Minneota Vikings. Too bad he has to face the undefeated Green Bay Packers. The Packers are a way better team than the 1-5 Vikings and should handle this one pretty easily.

Colts vs. Saints: 31-17 Saints

The Colts will remain winless as Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints bounce back from a rough loss last week. Hopefully, the Saints can get back their mojo with a big win against Indianapolis. Good news for the Colts is that they are still in position to get Andrew Luck.

Ravens vs. Jaguars: 27-3 Ravens

Can the prime-time games get more lopsided? The Ravens will crush the Jaguars on Monday night. Although the Ray Rice vs. Maurice Jones-Drew matchup is somewhat interesting, Rice will win easily due to a weak Jacksonville defense and a very strong Baltimore defense.

World Series Preview

(AP Photo/Eric Gay)
Nelson Cruz has been outstanding for the Rangers this postseason.
Can Cruz keep up his game and lead the Rangers to their first World Series title ever

The 107th MLB World Series kicked off tonight as the St. Louis Cardinals face off against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers are returning to the World Series after losing to the Giants last year. The Cardinals' last trip to the World Series was in 2006 when they beat the Detroit Tigers in five games.

Texas made it into the postseason after winning the AL West. This season they had a 96-66 record. The Rangers first faced the Rays in the ALDS but beat them in four games. The Texas Rangers then advanced to the ALCS where they beat the Detroit Tigers in six games.

St. Louis had a similar scenario to the Giants last year, when they made it into the postseason on the last night of the season. The Cardinals won the NL Wild-card and posted a 90-72 record on the year. In the NLDS the Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Phillies in five games, and then they beat the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS in six games.

So who will win the 107th edition of the MLB World Series?

The Texas Rangers.

The Rangers simply have more depth than the Cardinals. When it comes down to those clutch moments when your #7 hitter is up with two runners on and two outs, the Rangers have the edge over the Cardinals. The Rangers also have a deeper pitching rotation and bullpen.

The Cardinals snuck their way into the playoffs, and put up a good run but aren't good enough to beat the Rangers. Remember, the  Cardinals' pitching ace Adam Wainwright opted for surgery and has missed the whole season. If Wainwright was available to pitch, their chances to win the World Series would be much higher.

Another reason why the Texas Rangers will beat the Cardinals is because of Nelson Cruz. Cruz has exploded this postseason for Texas. He has hit six homeruns, including a walk off grand slam and three run home run in two ALCS games. Cruz became the first person ever to end a postseason game on a grand slam  Cruz also has 13 RBI's and a .784 slugging percentage. No one has been more clutch this October than Nelson Cruz.

On top of that, Texas has other stars like Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler, Michael Young, Adrian Beltre, and Mike Napoli who has also stepped up this season. The Cardinals may have Albert Pujols, but they don't have a great enough supporting cast to keep up with the Rangers.

The good news for the Cardinals is that they have home field advantage, thanks to the NL for winning the All Star game in Arizona.

If the Cardinals were to lose the World Series, would they also lose their longtime star Albert Pujols? Rumors are speculating that Pujols is likely to finally test the market, and might actually sign with divisional rivals, the Chicago Cubs. With the Cubs likely to acquire Red Sox GM Theo Epstein, Chicago becomes a place of interest for many stars, including Pujols.

So there you have it, The Texas Rangers will be your World Series champs when they beat the Cardinals in six games.

College Football Week 7 Review

(AP Photo/Wade Payne)
The LSU Tigers sit atop the BCS Rankings.

This past weekend, six ranked teams lost, four of which were upsets. (11) Michigan was upset by (23) Michigan State, (12) Georgia Tech was upset by Virginia, (16) Illinois was upset by Ohio State, and (20) Baylor was upset by (21) Texas A&M. Also, (22) Texas lost to higher ranked (6) Oklahoma State, while (18) Arizona State lost to (9) Oregon. Also, this past Sunday the first week of the BCS Rankings came out with LSU leading the pack with the top rank.

Top Three Performances by Team or Player:
1. Alabama RB Trent Richardson- Richardson had a monstrous game for the Tide, rushing for 189 yards and four touchdowns. Overall, Richardson is having a great Junior year. He is finally getting the majority of the carries for Alabama, and is Heisman trophy candidate.
2. Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill- Tannenhill had a career day for the Aggies, passing for 415 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Texas A&M quarterback helped lead his team over Robert Griffin III and the Baylor Bears.
3. Boise State QB Kellen Moore- Moore threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns, in a blowout against Colorado State.  Moore and the Broncos are still undefeated and are looking to finally make it to the BCS National Championship Game.

BCS Top 10:
1. LSU Tigers
2. Alabama Crimson Tide
3. Oklahoma Sooners
4. Oklahoma State Cowboys
5. Boise State Broncos
6. Wisconsin Badgers
7. Clemson Tigers
8. Stanford Cardinal
9. Arkansas Razorbacks
10. Oregon Ducks

Top Three Disappointments by Player or Team:
1. Florida Gators- The Gators lost to Auburn 17-10 last week, which makes it three losses and a row for the Gators. After starting the season 4-0, Florida is now just one game above .500. Everyone knows it is hard to fill Urban Meyer's shoes down in Gainesville but Florida football is still usually one of the best.
2. Michigan Wolverines- Has this year's October collapse begun? The Wolverines lost to their first game of the season to in state rivals Michigan State 28-14. On top of that, Michigan hasn't looked too sharp. Quarterback Denard Robisnon has already thrown 10 interceptions this season, just one less than touchdowns he has thrown.
3. Oregon Ducks- Oregon picked up another win last week, but had to pay the price of losing starting quarterback Darron Thomas. With LaMichael James already out with a dislocated elbow, it would be bad news for the Ducks if Thomas can't play this week.

Game of the Week: Oregon vs. Arizona State

Corso, Herbstreit, and the rest of the College Gameday crew flew out to Arizona State for this week's Game of the Week. Home team Arizona State opened up the game with a 7-0 lead after their quarterback Brock Osweiller hooked up with Gerell Robinson for a 20 yard touchdown. Oregon would tie it up shortly after, just to allow another Arizona State touchdown. After the first quarter, the Sun Devils led 14-7. Oregon's defense stepped up in the second quarter, and only allowed a field goal from Arizona State. Darron Thomas also threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to give the Ducks a 21-17 lead. Despite losing Thomas, the second half was all Ducks. Kenjon Barner, who is replacing LaMichael James, rushed for over 170 yards and a touchdown. Oregon defeated Arizona State by a final score of 41-27.

Next Week's Five Intriguing Matchups:
1. (6) Wisconsin vs. (16) Michigan State: Wisconsin is 1-0 so far this season when playing the Game of the Week, but this time they are playing away at Michigan State. Can Sparty pull another upset like they did last year to beat the Badgers?
2. (1) LSU vs. (20) Auburn: Will top ranked LSU succumb to Auburn, or will they be able to maintain their status as the best team in the country?
3. (8) Stanford vs. (25) Washington: Andrew Luck and Stanford play their first real test of the season Saturday vs. Washington. Let's see what the Heisman frontrunner can do against real competition.
4. (22) Georgia Tech vs. Miami: Can the Yellow Jackets bounce back from a loss and beat the Hurricanes?
5. (7) Clemson vs. North Carolina: Will the Tigers remain undefeated after they square off against the Tar Heels?

NFL Week 6 Predictions

Drew Brees and the Saints face off against Josh Freeman
and the Bucs this afternoon. Expect the Saints to win in a blowout

Giants vs. Bills: 31-24 Giants

The Giants are coming off of a rough loss to the Seahawks last week, but will bounce back this week to beat the Bills. The Bills have been impressive this season so far with wins over the Patriots and Eagles, but the Giants at home will win this game.

Panthers vs. Falcons: 30-27 Falcons

The Panthers are 4-1 against the spread this year and will be 5-1 after this game. Although they will not win this game, it will be a very close game and probably fall within three points. Cam Newton and the Panthers' offense has been great this season, but the Falcons are just the better all around team.

Bengals vs. Colts: 24-20 Bengals

The Bengals have surprised many so far this season. With the losses of Chad Ochocinco and Carson Palmer, the Bengals weren't expected to score any points this season. The Bengals' rookies, AJ Green and Andy Dalton have both fit in fine so far in the Bengals' offense. Also the Colts have not proved that they can win without Manning.

Niners vs. Lions: 31-20 Lions

The undefeated Lions will remain undefeated when they beat the 49'ers. Both teams have been unexpectedly good this season, but advantage goes to the Lions at home. The Matt Stafford to Calvin Johnson connection is the best quarterback to wide receiver combo in the entire league.

Rams vs. Packers: 30-17 Packers

The Packers will remain undefeated while the Rams will remain winless. The Packers have been playing with the same mentality that won them the Super Bowl last year. Aaron Rodgers is putting up MVP numbers and the defense has been shutting down top offenses. This one shouldn't even be close.

Jaguars vs. Steelers: 27-13 Steelers

The Steelers are clearly the better team in this matchup. The Jaguars have no passing game, and a very weak defense. Look for the Steelers to take advantage of both of these weaknesses and win big at home.

Redskins vs. Eagles: 35-14 Eagles

Remember what happened last time these two teams played? Look for the Eagles losing streak to end, and for Michael Vick to have a huge game. The Redskins might be leading the NFC East for now, but not for much longer.

Browns vs. Raiders: 28-17 Raiders

The Raiders are playing like a postseason team this season, and with one mistake by Chargers, the Raiders can find themselves playing in the playoffs. With the passing of longtime owner, Al Davis, the Raiders are playing for one reason, and that is to "Just win, baby".

Texans vs. Ravens: 24-20 Ravens

The Ravens have the best defense in the NFL, and the Texans, despite a good offense, will not be able to keep up. Andre Johnson's injury is really affecting the Texans team more than they expected.

Cowboys vs. Patriots: 35-31 Patriots

This one will be a high scoring duel between two top offenses. Tom Brady and the Patriots are coming off of a big win vs. the Jets, while the Cowboys are coming off of their bye week. The Patriots will win this game, not because of their offense, but because of their defense that will in the end, shut down the Cowboys.

Saints vs. Bucs: 38-13 Saints

After last week's game vs. the 49'ers the Bucs have lost extraordinary amounts of respect. The Saints have one of the best offenses in the entire league, and if Alex Smith and the 49'ers can score 48 points on the Bucs, than just imagine what Drew Brees and the Saints can do.

Vikings vs. Bears: 27-23 Bears

This Sunday night matchup will be a close one, but advantage goes to the Bears at home. Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the league, but right now, he is their only offensive threat. Donovan McNabb has been playing terrible this season. In order for the Vikings to make this one close, and possibly win the game, they need McNabb to step up.

Jets vs. Dolphins: 24-17 Jets

The Dolphins are playing for one reason this season, and that is to suck for Andrew Luck. The Dolphins have no offense, and their defense is not good enough to stop the Jets. While the Jets are coming off back to back losses, and have not looked good this season, they will get the win on Monday Night.

NFL Week 5 Recap

(Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images)
Alex Smith and the 49'ers crushed the Bucs last week 48-3.
Eagles vs. Bills: 31-24 Bills
Eagles Player of the Week: LeSean McCoy- 80 rush yards, 27 receiving yards, touchdown
Bills Player of the Week: Fred Jackson- 111 rush yards, 85 receiving yards, touchdown

The "Dream Team" is becoming the "In Your Dreams Team" after falling to 1-4. The Bills on the other hand picked up their game after a loss to the Bengals a week ago. Vick, like Brady two weeks ago threw four interceptions including one returned for a touchdown. It is only week five, but the Eagles are running out of time to make a comeback and win the very competitive NFC East.

Chiefs vs. Colts: 28-24 Chiefs
Chiefs Player of the Week: Dwayne Bowe- 7 receptions, 128 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Colts Player of the Week: Curtis Painter- 277 pass yards, 2 touchdowns, 115.8 passer rating

Each week, the Colts are getting closer and closer to winning their first game. Curtis Painter has been playing alright in his first two starts, hooking up with Pierre Garcon for two touchdowns each week. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have won two straight, and are on a roll after losing Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry for the season.

Cardinals vs. Vikings: 34-10 Vikings
Cardinals Player of the Week: Beanie Wells- 60 rush yards, touchdown
Vikings Player of the Week: Adrian PEterson- 122 rush yards, 3 touchdowns

This game was way over after the first quarter. The Vikings led 28-0 and Adrian Peterson already had three touchdowns. The Cardinals have lost their last four games, and just looked terrible last week. This win was also the first for the Vikings this season, after they finally held onto a first half lead.

Steelers vs. Titans: 38-17 Steelers
Steelers Player of the Week: Ben Roethlisberger- 228 pass yards, 5 touchdowns, 116.2 passer rating
Titans Player of the Week: Chris Johnson- 51 rush yards, touchdown

The Steelers bounced after a loss to the Texans last week and crushed the Titans. Big Ben played the best game of his season, throwing five touchdown passes. The Steelers' D looked great, holding Chris Johnson to only 51 rushing yards, and Matt Hasselbeck to only one touchdown throw.

Saints vs. Panthers: 30-27 Saints
Saints Player of the Week: Drew Brees- 359 pass yards, 2 touchdowns, 100.1 passer rating
Panthers Player of the Week: DeAngelo Williams- 115 rush yards, touchdown

With only one minute left in the game, the Saints took back their lead after Pierre Thomas caught a six yard pass from Drew Brees. Cam Newton had a solid game throwing for two touchdowns, and running in one himself. Even though the Panthers are 1-4, they are 4-1 vs. the spread which means they are player better than what people expected. DeAngelo Williams also had his first 100+ yard game of the season. Carolina's defense is injured, but right now it is the only part of their game that is holding them back from more wins.

Bengals vs. Jaguars: 30-20 Bengals
Bengals Player of the Week: AJ Green- 5 receptions, 90 receiving yards, touchdown
Jaguars Player of the Week: Maurice Jones-Drew- 85 rush yards, touchdown

The Bengals are surprisingly 3-2 after beating the Jaguars this past Sunday. The Andy Dalton to AJ Green connection has been great this season. The two have connected on over 400 yards and three touchdowns. The Jaguars, on the other hand, have not found success this season, winning only one game. The Jaguars are still struggling to find a good passing game.

Giants vs. Seahawks: 36-25 Seahawks
Giants Player of the Week: Victor Cruz- 8 receptions, 161 receiving yards, touchdown
Seahawks Player of the Week: Doug Baldwin- 8 receptions, 138 receiving yards, touchdown

The Seahawks shocked the Giants in the Meadowlands after a late interception that was returned for a touchdown clinched the game. Eli Manning had a terrible game, throwing three costly interceptions. The Seahwks did play well though, on both offense and defense. Marshawn Lynch was just two yards shy of a one hundred yard rushing game, while Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst had solid passing games.

Raiders vs. Texans: 25-20 Raiders
Raiders Player of the Week: Darrius Heyward-Bey- 7 receptions, 99 receiving yards, touchdown
Texans Player of the Week: Arian Foster- 68 rush yards, 116 receiving yards

"Just Win Baby". After the passing of longtime Raiders owner Al Davis, the team did just that. Michael Huff intercepted Matt Schaub in the endzone as time expired to give the Raiders their third win of the season. It was an emotional win for the team, and even though they played sloppy, they still got the victory in the end.

Bucs vs. Niners: 48-3 Niners
Bucs Player of the Week: N/A
Niners Player of the Week: Alex Smith- 170 pass yards, 3 touchdowns, 127.2 passer rating

The 49'ers creamed the Buccaneers this past Saturday. San Francisco held the Bucs to no touchdowns, but scored six of their own. Josh Freeman, just a week after leading the Bucs to victory on Monday Night, had the worst game of arguably his career. Freeman threw for only 187 yards, no touchdowns, but a pair of interceptions.

Chargers vs. Broncos 29-24 Chargers
Chargers Player of the Week: Malcom Floyd- 3 receptions, 100 receiving yards, touchdown
Broncos Player of the Week: Tim Tebow- 79 pass yards, 37 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

The Broncos finally played Tim Tebow, but it was a little too late. The Broncos were losing 26-10 midway through the fourth quarter when Tebow finally got some action. In the short time he had, Tebow cut the lead down to just five points, and even had a last second desperation chance to give the Broncos the win. The Chargers played decent, but still haven't impressed that many early on this season. Philip Rivers still hasn't exploded for a big game yet.

Jets vs. Patriots: 31-21 Patriots
Jets Player of the Week: Shonn Green- 83 rush yards, touchdown
Patriots Player of the Week: BenJarvus Green-Ellis - 136 rush yards, 2 touchdowns

The Patriots beat down on their division rivals and are now 4-1. The Jets on the other hand are under .500. The offense did not look great this past week, and the defense definitely didn't play well after giving up 30 points. If the Jets finally want to live up to their word and make it to the Super Bowl, they need to make some adjustments quick.

Packers vs. Falcons: 25-14 Packers
Packers Player of the Week: Aaron Rodgers- 396 pass yards, 2 touchdowns, 117.0 passer rating
Falcons Player of the Week: Michael Turner- 56 rush yards, touchdown

The Falcons chocked a 14-6 halftime lead to the Packers on Sunday Night and are now 2-3. The Packers shut out the Falcons in the second half and are now one of two undefeated teams left in the league. Aaron Rodgers had another huge game for the Packers throwing for almost 400 yards.

Lions vs. Bears: 24-13 Lions
Lions Player of the Week: Jahvid Best- 163 rush yards, touchdown
Bears Player of the Week: Matt Forte- 116 rush yards, 35 receiving yards

The Lions are still undefeated after knocking off the Bears on Monday Night. Calvin Johnson and Matt Stafford connected again, and Jahvid Best added to the offense with over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Bears are now 2-3 and play the Vikings next week.

College Football Week 6 Review

Andrew Luck led Stanford to a 48-7 victory over Colorado this past Saturday.
After six weeks, Luck is still the favorite to win the Heisman trophy.

This past weekend, the Top 25 teams were dominant. The only team that was upset was (23) Florida State who lost to Wake Forest.  (11) Texas, (15) Auburn, and (17) Florida all lost to higher ranked opponents.

Top Three Performances by Team or Player:
1. Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden- In just a quarter and a half of play, Weeden threw five touchdowns and completed over 24 passes for 288 yards. Weeden and the Cowboys are undefeated after six games, and are currently ranked sixth in the country.
2. Oklahoma QB Landry Jones- Oklahoma crushed Texas last Saturday in the annual Red River Rivalry, thanks in part to Landry Jones. Jones threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Sooners win by 38 points.
3. South Carolina QB Connor Shaw- With the dismissal of Stephen Garcia, came an opening for the quarterback position at South Carolina. Shaw stepped it up last week and threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns. In addition, Shaw also ran the ball for 42 yards and helped the Gamecocks beat Kentucky by a score of 54-3.

Top Three Disappointments by Player or Team:
1. Texas Longhorns- The Longhorns were terrible last season, and just when people thought that they might be back into BCS contention this year, they get blown out by their rivals, Oklahoma. The Longhorns. Texas' quarterbacks combined to throw no touchdowns but one interception.
2. Oregon RB LaMichael James- James had a fantastic game last week, rushing for 238 yards and a touchdown. The bad news for James is that he injured himself in the game. Oregon has yet to announced when James will be back on the playing field.
3. Florida State Seminoles- Three weeks ago, the Seminoles were a top five team in the country. Now fast forward to this week and the Seminoles are not ranked, and have a 2-3 record. Florida State has lost its last three games and have been an absolute mess every since their loss to Oklahoma.

Game of the Week: (3) Oklahoma vs (11) Texas

This game wasn't a close one but is still the game of the week. In past years the Red River rivalry has often decided if either Oklahoma or Texas will remain undefeated and even play in the national championship game. This year, both teams were undefeated, but Oklahoma was clearly the stronger team. The Sooners' offense had a field day and by halftime were leading 34-10. On the defensive end, Oklahoma was able to shut down the Texas run game as well as the passing game. Midway through the game, Texas was forced to switch to a two quarterback system because their starter, Case McCoy was struggling. Ryan Broyles had a great game, catching nine balls for 122 yards and a touchdown. Oklahoma's next big test won't come up until the last week when they play away vs. Oklahoma State.

Next Week's Five Intriguing Matchups:
1. (9) Oregon vs. (18) Arizona State- Can the Sun Devils capitalize with Heisman candidate LaMichael James likely out or will Darron Thomas the Ducks fight them off?
2. (11) Michigan vs. (23) Michigan State- Will this be the start of the October collapse for the Wolverines? Michigan's last few games have been close, and if Denard Robinson continues to throw interceptions, Sparty might upset.
3. (6) Oklahoma State vs. (22) Texas- Can Texas rebound after a gruesome loss to the Sooners, or will the another Oklahoma college team also run Texas out of the state?
4. (16) Illinois vs. Ohio State- When was the last time these two teams played each other, and Ohio State wasn't the higher ranked team. The Fighting Illini are undefeated so far but face their biggest test of th season this week.
5. (20) Baylor vs. (22) Texas A&M- The Aggies last three games haven't been pretty, and they could lose again when they face Robert Griffin III and the Baylor Bears.

NBA Cancels First Two Weeks Of The Season

(Getty Images)
The first two weeks of the regular season were cancelled after both sides failed to end the lockout.

As commissioner David Stern promised, if the lockout didn't end this Monday, he would cancel the first two weeks of the 2011-2012 regular season. The players and owners met Sunday and Monday for about 13 total hours. Although they did solve some problems to the lockout, not all of the arguments have been solved. The last time there was a lockout was the 1998-1999 season, which didn't start until February.

One of the biggest problems of this lockout is who should get more shares of the BRI, or basketball related income. In the past bargaining agreement, the players got 57% of the shares, but the owners want to cut that down to a 50/50 split. The players are willing to give in a little, but won't go below 53%.

Derek Fisher, who is the president of the National Basketball Players Assocation, tweeted @derekfisher "LET US PLAY #StandUnited" on Monday afternoon. Following Fisher's tweet came about 150 re-tweets from other players in the league including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Chris Paul.

Some other disputes that still need to be resolved are luxury tax and a salary cap system in order to prevent "super teams" like the Miami Heat.

No other meetings have been scheduled for the future, and the owners and players are not supposed to meet for the rest of this week.

Due to the current lockout, many NBA players, including some stars, have decided to play overseas. Deron Williams joined a Turkish club, the Gasol brothers are playing in Spain, Kenyon Martin and others are playing in China, and Kobe Bryant is close to signing a deal to play in Italy.

Other players like Kevin Durant, John Wall, and Carmelo Anthony are playing in Pro-Am leagues such as the Drew League based out of California, and the Goodman League based out of Washington D.C..

The good news is that if the lockout were to end soon, most of the players would be in good shape and ready to go. The bad news is that some players overseas would not be able to return back to the NBA because of the contracts they signed in their respective league's.

With the NBA locked out, television networks will have to find alternative ways to get viewers. College basketball, college football, and possible hockey all could be seeing more time on TV without any NBA games.

NFL Week 5 Predictions

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots face off against the New York
Jets for the first time this season.

Eagles vs. Bills: 31-19 Eagles

The Eagles will bounce back after three consecutive losses and beat the Bills. No matter how good the Bills have looked this season, the Eagles are still the better team and should take care of Bills. Also, the Bills' defense that picked off Tom Brady four times, might struggle with Philadelphia
s mobile quarterback.

Chiefs vs. Colts: 24-20 Colts

The Colts will win their first game of the year against another injury stricken team. Curtis Painter is improving each week, and has a new target in Pierre Garcon, who he hooked up with twice last week for two touchdowns. The Chiefs' offense isn't the same without Jamaal Charles, and the Colts' defense has been good recently, keeping them close in games vs. the Bucs and Steelers.

Giants vs. Seahawks: 31-10 Giants

Last time the two teams played, the Giants demolished the Seahawks in Seattle. Eli Manning is bound for another spectacular game, and may carry his no interception streak to three games. The Seahawks' offense is still lame even with Sidney Rice in the lineup, and the Giants shouldn't have a problem stopping them.

Cardinals vs. Vikings: 28-27 Vikings

The Vikings will win their first game of the season against the Cardinals this week. Adrian Peterson is gonna breakout and have a huge game against the Cardinals' defense. If the Vikings are going to win this game, they need to be able to hold their halftime lead, and make sure Donovan McNabb plays at least decent.

Titans vs. Steelers: 28-17 Steelers

The Steelers are coming off another loss as the Titans are coming off another win. Regardless of what their records say, the Steelers are the better team and will win this one. Even though the Titans have picked up a solid passing game this year, the Steelers should be able to hold the Titans to under 20 points and win the game.

Saints vs. Panthers: 38-27 Saints

This one is meant to be a high scoring duel between Cam Newton and Drew Brees. The advantage goes to the veteran, as the Saints have the better overall team. Even though Newton might put up impressive numbers, it won't be enough to give the Panthers their second win of the season.

Bengals vs. Jaguars: 20-13 Bengals

While the Carolina vs. New Orleans game may be a barnburner, this game will be on the low scoring side. Both teams are starting rookie quarterbacks, and don't produce that much on offense. The Bengals are still the better team, and should be able to handle the Jaguars.

Raiders vs. Texans: 30-21 Texans

Rest in Peace Al Davis, a man who knows Raiders football more than anyone on this planet. The Raiders will play their hearts out on Sunday, but the Texans will end up on the winning side. The Texans are the better team, and this season have been playing spectacular. Arian Foster will be working with a big work load, and is expected to have a big game with Andre Johnson out with an injury.

Bucs vs. Niners: 23-20 Bucs

The Buccaneers and 49'ers are both 3-1 this season so far. The reason the advantage goes to Tampa in this game is simply because quarterback, Josh Freeman, is far more elite than Alex Smith. Freeman took control late in the game last week against Indianapolis, and has shown great leadership early on this year.
It should be a close one, but the Bucs will pull through.

Broncos vs. Chargers: 31-17 Chargers

The Broncos are definitely sucking for Luck so far this season. Although they are banged up, many of their games this season have not been close. The Chargers have an explosive offense that might put the Broncos to work. If Philip Rivers plays anywhere close to how Aaron Rodgers played last week, Denver is in for trouble.

Jets vs. Patriots: 28-23 Patriots

In their first meeting of the year, the Patriots will get the better of the Jets in Foxborough. Believe it or not, the Jets will have a losing record after five weeks. Nick Mangold's injury is affecting this team way more than anyone expected. Mark Sanchez looked horrendous last week, and the offensive line is to blame for some of it. Advantage New England.

Packers vs. Falcons: 35-27 Packers

The Packers played incredible last week, and even though it was against the Broncos, Aaron Rodgers might have had the best regular season game of his life. The Falcons could give the Packers some trouble in Atlanta, but Rodgers definitely has the advantage over Matt Ryan. Green Bay will still be undefeated after week five.

Bears vs. Lions: 30-20 Lions

The Lions are hosting their first Monday Night football game ever at Ford Field. Although the first actually Ford Field Monday Night game was last year, it was actually the Minnesota Vikings hosting the New York Giants. Anyways, although the Bears have looked good early in the season, the Lions look unstoppable. Their offense is one of the most explosive in the entire league, and their defense is holding their own"

NFL Week 4 Recap

(AP Photo/Jim Prisching)
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are 4-0 after defeating the Broncos 49-23.
Rodgers had a spectacular game, throwing four touchdowns and running in two.

Panthers vs. Bears: 34-29 Bears
Panthers Player of the Week: Steve Smith- 8 receptions, 171 receiving yards
Bears Player of the Week: Matt Forte- 205 rush yards, touchdown

The Bears bounced back from two previous losses to beat the Panthers. Cam Newton put up good numbers again, but it was the Panthers' defense that lost them the game. Matt Forte had a career game and ran all over Carolina. The Panthers' defense took a major blow this season when Jon Beason and Thomas Davis each tore their ACL's.

Bills vs. Bengals: 23-20 Bengals
Bills Player of the Week: Fred Jackson- 66 rush yards, 32 receiving yards, touchdown
Bengals Player of the Week: AJ Green- 4 receptions, 118 receiving yards

After Sunday's loss to the Bengals, the Bills are no longer undefeated. Despite throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, Andy Dalton and the Bengals were able to knock off the previously undefeated Bills.

Titans vs. Browns: 31-13 Titans
Titans Player of the Week: Matt Hasselbeck- 220 pass yards, 3 touchdowns, 108.1 passer rating
Browns Player of the Week: Benjamin Watson- 6 receptions, 48 receiving yards, touchdown

Peyton Hillis returned to the field Sunday, but it wasn't enough to beat the Titans. Hillis only had 10 carries for 46 yards, as the Titans' defense did a great job of preventing the Browns' offense from success. Chris Johnson also reached 100 yards in a game for the first time this season.

Lions vs. Cowboys: 34-31 Lions
Lions Player of the Week: Calvin Johnson- 8 receptions, 96 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Cowboys Player of the Week: Jason Witten- 8 receptions, 94 receiving yards, touchdown

Who would have guessed that after four weeks of football, the Packers and the Lions would be the only undefeated teams left? Calvin Johnson also became the first player in NFL history to have two touchdowns in each of his first four games of the season. Despite having a 17-0 lead, the Cowboys ended up blowing the game in the fourth quarter, to give the Lions their fourth win of the season, more than the last three seasons combined.

Chiefs vs. Vikings: 22-17 Chiefs
Chiefs Player of the Week: Dwayne Bowe- 5 receptions, 107 receiving yards, touchdown
Vikings Player of the Week: Percy Harvin- 67 rush yards, 42 receiving yards

The battle of the winless was won by the Chiefs this past weekend, after they defeated the Vikings 22-17. Despite signing Donovan McNabb this offseason, the Vikings are 0-4, and might even have to bench McNabb at some point this season.

Redskins vs. Rams: 17-10 Redskins
Redskins Player of the Week: Ryan Torain- 135 rush yards, touchdown
Rams Player of the Week: Steven Jackson- 45 rush yards, 19 receiving yards, touchdown

After four games the Redskins are 3-1 and the Rams are 0-4, who would have guessed? Rex Grossman has been fantastic for the Redskins this season, and the Skins' young defense has been playing exceptionally well.

Niners vs. Eagles: 24-23 Niners
Niners Player of the Week: Frank Gore- 127 rush yards, touchdown
Eagles Player of the Week: Desean Jackson- 8 receptions, 171 receiving yards

Dream Team? After winning their first game of the season, the Eagles are 0-3 since. Philadelphia led 23-3 in the third quarter, but somehow let the 49'ers sneak back into the game and win. Frank Gore said that the Eagles "Threw in the towel" on Sunday. If they Eagles want to win the hectic NFC East, they better turn it around soon.

Saints vs. Jaguars: 23-10 Saints
Saints Player of the Week: Jimmy Graham- 10 receptions, 130 receiving yards, touchdown
Jaguars Player of the Week: Daryl Smith- 11 tackles, sack, interception

Despite Drew Brees having an off day, the Saints were able to defeat the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Jimmy Graham had a great game for New Orleans, including a huge 59 yard reception.

Texans vs. Steelers: 16-10 Texans
Texans Player of the Week: Arian Foster- 150 rush yards, touchdown
Steelers Player of the Week: Mike Wallace- 4 receptions, 77 receiving yards

Welcome back Arian Foster! Foster returned to full strength last Sunday and ran all over the Steelers defense. Foster will look to have impressive games in the next few weeks with Andre Johnson out with a hamstring injury.

Seahawks vs. Falcons: 30-28 Falcons
Seahawks Player of the Week: Sidney Rice- 3 receptions, 79 receiving yards, touchdown
Falcons Player of the Week: Michael Turner- 70 rush yards, 2 touchdowns

The Falcons won the battle of the birds Sunday, improving their record to 2-2. Although the game seemed close, the Falcons blew out the Seahawks. Atlanta led 27-7 early in the third quarter, but Seattle would score three touchdowns narrowing it just to two points.

Giants vs. Cardinals: 31-27 Giants
Giants Player of the Week: Eli Manning- 321 pass yards, 2 touchdowns, 108.4 passer rating
Cardinals Player of the Week: Beanie Wells- 138 rush yards, 3 touchdowns

Eli Manning has really turned himself around this season after a horrific start to the season. The Giants are 3-1 after coming back in Glendale to defeat the Cardinals. Arizona was up up 10 with just three minutes to play, when Eli led the Giants to two game winning scoring drives.

Packers vs. Broncos: 49-23 Packers
Packers Player of the Week: Aaron Rodgers- 408 pass yards, 4 pass touchdowns, 2 rush touchdowns 134.5 passer rating
Broncos Player of the Week: Eric Decker- 5 receptions, 56 yards, 2 touchdowns

The Packers demolished the Broncos' defense last week scoring six touchdowns on them. Denver gave up over 500 yards of offense and are now 1-3 after four games. Denver might be in the running for Andrew Luck if they keep losing. Just remember the last time a quarterback out of Stanford was playing for the Broncos.

Raiders vs. Patriots: 31-19 Patriots
Raiders Player of the Week: Darrius Heyward-Bey- 4 receptions, 115 receiving yards
Raiders Player of the Week: Wes Welker- 9 receptions, 151 receiving yards, touchdown

Wes Welker is having a MVP year, with already 40 receptions, 616 receiving yards, and five touchdowns, all in just four games. The Patriots took care of the Raiders just a week after the Jets failed to beat the Raiders. The good news for Oakland is that their schedule eases up, after they play Houston next week.

Dolphins vs. Chargers: 26-16 Chargers
Dolphins Player of the Week: Brandon Marshall- 5 receptions, 52 receiving yards
Chargers Player of the Week: Philip Rivers- 309 pass yards, touchdown, 110.6 passer rating

The Dolphins only strategy on Sunday's this season is "Suck for Luck". The winless 'Fins lost their starting quarterback last week, and would really like the Stanford quarterback to fill in next year. As for the Bolts, they improved their offensive game from last week, and are currently 3-1.

Jets vs. Ravens: 34-17 Ravens
Jets Player of the Week: David Harris- 7 tackles, interception, touchdown
Ravens Player of the Week: Ray Rice- 64 rush yards, 66 receiving yards, touchdown

The Jets failed to get over 175 yards of TOTAL offense, which in most cases mean they didn't win. Although Baltimore didn't play great themselves, they played well enough to beat the 2-2 Jets. The Ravens forced Mark Sanchez to fumble four times and also intercepted him once as well.

Colts vs. Bucs: 24-17 Bucs
Colts Player of the Week: Pierre Garcon- 2 receptions, 146 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns
Bucs Player of the Week: LeGarrette Blount- 127 rush yards, touchdown

Josh Freeman led the Bucs to victory on Monday night over the Manning-less Colts. The Colts have not won a game all season, but have had a few close games. It's a shame that the Colts have so many prime time games this season, because ESPN and NBC thought Peyton Manning would play. It shows how much the four time MVP winner means to his team.

College Football Week 5 Review

(AP Photo/Andy Manis)
Wisconsin's quarterback, Russell Wilson, has been incredible for the Badgers
this season, leading them to a 5-0 record.

This week's review is coming late, but better late than never. This past week, nine teams in the Top 25 lost! While (12) Florida and (8) Nebraska lost to higher ranked opponents, the remaining seven teams lost to lower ranked opponents. (10) South Carolina lost to Auburn, (11) Virginia Tech lost to (13) Clemson, (14) Texas A&M lost to (18) Arkansas, (16) South Florida lost to Pittsburgh, (15) Baylor lost to Kansas State, and (22) TCU lost to Southern Methodist.

Top Three Performances by Team or Player:
1. Oklahoma QB Landry Jones- Landry threw for over 400 yards and five touchdowns as the Sooners defeated Ball State 62-6. Jones averaged 13 yards a throw and has been nothing but good this season for Oklahoma.
2. Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson- Wilson had a phenomenal game Saturday and helped lead the Razorbacks over the Texas A&M Aggies. Wilson threw for over 500 yards and three touchdowns.
3. Wisconsin RB Montee Ball- Ball rushed for 151 yards and four touchdowns and helped Wisconsin crush Nebraska in their first game in the Big Ten. Ball is having an overall great year for Wisconsin leading the NCAA with 13 rushing touchdowns in just five games.

Top Three Disappointments by Player or Team:
1. Nebraska Cornhuskers- Talk about a buzz kill, in their first Big Ten conference game the Cornhuskers got destroyed by Wisconsin. College Gameday was in Madison for the weekend, and definitely was expecting a much closer game than a 48-17 whooping.
2. Boise State QB Kellen Moore- Moore threw for a career low 142 yards and also had two interceptions. Although the Broncos won, a large part of the win was because their defense, who shut down Nevada.
3. TCU Horned Frogs- TCU didn't lose a single game last season, but has already lost two of their first five games. On top of that, TCU is now considering moving to the Big 12 (really nine), before even playing a single game in the Big East Conference.

Game of the Week: (7) Wisconsin vs. (8) Nebraska

Wisconsin vs. Nebraska was supposed to be a historic game in Big Ten history. It would be the first in conference football game for the Cornhuskers. ESPN's College Gameday was there for the weekend in Madison, and Lee Corso put on a Cornhuskers hat in front of hundreds of Badger fans watching from Bascom Hill. Nebraska came out hot, scoring the first touchdown of the game, and after the Badgers responded with a touchdown of their own, Nebraska jumped back out to a 14-7 lead. Taylor Martinez looked like he was in control of the Cornhuskers' offense and had no problem with Wisconsin's defense. Three drives, and three interceptions later, the Badgers took a 27-14 lead, and would score two more touchdowns to take a 41-14 lead entering the fourth quarter. After jumping around and scoring seventh and final touchdown, the Badgers took this one 48-17.

Next Week's Five Intriguing Matchups:
1. (1) LSU vs. (17) Florida: Will LSU keep their undefeated season alive, or will Florida bounce back from a rough loss and beat the Tigers?
2. (3) Oklahoma vs. (11) Texas: Red River Rivalry at it's best. Texas will try to redeem itself from a horrendous past season, while the Sooners try to re-conquer the top of the rankings.
3. (10) Arkansas vs. (15) Auburn: Auburn starts off the season low in the rankings but starts to make it's way closer and closer to the top each week, sounds familiar? The Tigers are are fresh off of a victory, just like their opponents, who will win this SEC battle?
4. (21) Virginia Tech vs. Miami: This former Big East and current ACC matchup is always a classic. Will Virginia Tech get back on track or will Miami upset the Hokies?
5. (14) Nebraska vs. Ohio State: Can Nebraska make up for their ugly loss last week and beat up on the shorthanded Buckeyes?

NFL Week 4 Predictions

Adrian Peterson and the Vikings are lookingfor their
first win of the season this week vs. the Chiefs.

Panthers vs. Bears: 28-20 Bears

The Bears have had a rough two weeks and will gain some momentum back when they defeat the Panthers. Cam Newton wasn't great last week, and the Bears' defense is one of the best in the league.

Bills vs. Bengals: 31-17 Bills

The Bills are one of the hottest teams in the league this season with a 3-0 record. The Bills will win another one this week when they defeat Andy Dalton and the Bengals.

Titans vs. Browns: 27-21 Titans

The Titans lost Kenny Britt last week but will defeat the Browns this week. Peyton Hillis missed last week's game with strep throat, and supposedly lost 10-15 pounds. If Hillis is at full strength the Browns may have a chance to win, but the Titans look like the favorite.

Lions vs. Cowboys: 31-27 Lions

Matt Stafford is living up to his first overall pick in the NFL draft three years ago. Stafford and the Lions' offense has exploded this season, averaging 34 points per game. The Cowboys have a good offense too, but they need their defense to step up if they want to win this game.

Vikings vs. Chiefs: 27-13 Vikings

It's unfair to predict the winner of the Chief's' matchup every week because they are missing so many key players. Their starting running back, tight end, and safety are all out for the season. The Vikings haven't won a game this season too, but has led at half time in all three games. Vikings win their first game of the season, and hold their half time lead.

Redskins vs. Rams: 20-17 Rams

The Redskins started off the season red hot, but everyone knows it was just a bluff. Before you know it, the Redskins will be back in fourth place in the NFC East. The Rams are winless so far, but will pick up their first win this week at home against the Redskins.

Niners vs. Eagles: 35-17

The Eagles' offense is way to good for the Niners to compete with. Vick is going to have a strong game and the Eagles are going to pick up some momentum after losing the last two games to the Falcons and Giants.

Saints vs. Jaguars: 31-13 Saints

America is so sympathetic for Maurice Jones-Drew. He is the only good player on the Jaguars, and every week gives his full effort on the field, just to lose the majority of the times. This week will be one of those times when The Saints come into town and crush the Jaguars.

Steelers vs. Texans: 35-31 Texans

Arian Foster is back and the Texans will beat the Steelers this week. The Texans are coming off of a tough loss to the Saints in New Orleans, and will bounce back with a win vs. the Steelers. The Steelers beat the Colts last week, but the game was closer than everyone thought. The Steelers are getting older and slower, while the Texans are entering their prime.

Giants vs. Cardinals: 28-21 Giants

The Giants are coming off their biggest win in arguably two seasons, after defeating the Eagles for the first time in seven games. Eli Manning played incredible last week throwing four touchdowns and no interceptions, and as long as he can play somewhat decent this week, the Giants should win this one.

Falcons vs. Seahawks: 38-13 Falcons

The Falcons are coming off another disappointing loss, this time to the Bucs, but will bounce back when they crush the Seahawks. Matt Ryan will gain back some confidence and the Falcons will be 2-2 after this week's win.

Broncos vs. Packers: 28-10 Packers

The defending Super Bowl champs will be 4-0 after they beat the Broncos this week. The Packers are just too good for 90% of the league. Rodgers and the offense will have a field day against the Broncos' defense.

Patriots vs. Raiders: 30-20 Patriots

The Raiders beat the Jets last week at home but they will not have a similar result this week against the Patriots. The Patriots are embarrassed after blowing last week's game to the Bills and will take it all out on the Raiders this week.

Dolphins vs. Chargers: 27-10 Chargers

Despite coming out a little flat this season, the Chargers will win this one in San Diego. The Dolphins will stay winless and will be one of the front runners for Andrew Luck this offseason.

Jets vs Ravens: 24-20 Ravens

This one will be a close game, but the Ravens at home will come out on top. The Jets will be 2-2 after this game and will raise a bunch of eyebrows in New York when they are sitting in third place in the AFC East.

Colts vs Bucs: 27-20 Bucs

Rewind six weeks ago, and who would have guessed that the Bucs are the favorite to beat the Colts on Monday night. Now fast forward those six weeks, and you've got the Colts without their leader, Peyton Manning, and no hope. Josh Freeman will be able to show America that he is the next young quarterback stud, when Bucs and he defeat the Colts.
