What a Giant Win!


For the first time in over 50 years, the San Francisco Giants have won the World Series. They did make it this far in 2002 but lost to the Angels. The Giants defeated the Rangers in 5 games, the last one being in Texas. They got their 4 wins from aces Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum. Their bats were led by veteran AND World Series MVP Edgar Renteria. Renteria batted .421 and hit 2 Clutch Home Runs to lead the Giants. Also Buster Posey, Cody Ross, and the "Panda Bear", Pablo Sandoval contributed to run support. Here is their "Road to the Rings:
Regular Season:
Won the NL West with a 92-70 Record, clinching on the last day over the Paders who led most of the season with a 90-72 Record
NLDS:
Defeated the Atlanta Braves in 4 (Best of 5)
NLCS:
Defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in 6 (Best of 7)
World Series:
Defeated the Texas Rangers in 5 (Best of 7)
